Captain Insano the Guitar Man
Yep, I have taken on yet another insane project. I am building an electric guitar. Not like from a kit… I started out with some wood, glued it up… designed a shape (on the computer of course) and cut it out. This will be like many of my other projects in that it will take me @#$^ing forever to complete because of the time and money involved. Oh well.. at least it is something fun to do and help take my mind off of the rediculous number of hours I am having to put in at work.

It’s been a while since I posted any weird shiznit. I felt bad about that… so here ya go. I present some guy promoting a product from Creative Labs that appears to be part computer keyboard, part musical keyboard. Great, I really need a schizophrenic keyboard.
Anyway… this guy’s Engrish is Awrsome. “Tom tom” and “This is wok ‘n woll” are my favorites…. But he can jam! Awesome

The Lego Guitar
I post some pretty outrageous things here. Some are testaments to human ingenuity. Some are examples of stupidity. Many are as I put it the results of having too much time on your hands. This particular instance would fall into the first and third categories bypassing stupidity.
Good thing for Brad, the guy that built this guitar, huh? I wouldn’t want to disparage anyone publicly. No Brad, you may rest easy my friend.
I found this guitar on eBay a few days ago. I noticed that the seller lived in my yuppie city so I shoot off an email asking if I could take pics for my blog. Brad was gracious enough to agree. How about everybody thank him since he is probably reading this. 
This guitar is made from Lego pieces. Yes, it is a result of too much time on his hands. I didn’t press for details but he mentioned a four month recovery from some health issues which resulted in this great thing. The vast majority of it is super glued together except where the pickups are mounted so they can be changed/adjusted. The downside: It doesn’t stay in tune very long because of the pressure the strings exert.
Brad is thinking of building another one in the future if he can SELL THIS ONE. If you are interested in buying it leave me a comment and I’ll put you in touch with him. He was asking $2500 on eBay but I’m not sure what he would take for this one-of-a-kind instrument.

One of the musical greats passed on. Yep, the genius, Ray Charles.
I am very glad that I had the opportunity to see Mr. Charles perform at a private engagement some 11 or 12 years ago. I watched him play a nice 45 minute set while seated less than 20 feet away. The next day we went to see Al Hirt. I kind of miss the old hob-nobbing days for those kinds of perks.

‘Why?’, you ask. Well, let me tell you! It is because I am boycotting the show. Yes, I am still pissed about last week’s results.
Granted, I PVRed it. I will wait until AFTER the results show to decide if I am going to watch it. If John gets voted off I might watch it again. MIGHT.
